False Alarm formed in 1999 when most of the members were still in school. They released their album on their own on 2003 to success while the song “Eat And Sing” from the album became more or less their classic and a very popular song among the indie crowd, which may also be due to the nature of the teenage lyrics.
They joined up with four other fellow bands and formed Harbour Records in 2004. In 2005, the second False Alarm album was released with Harbour Records in a sold-out CD release show to moderate success, although the band was disappointed in its sales. Most of the line up change happen after the release of the second album, and for a garage/angst rock band they are unique in having both trumpet and violin in its current line up.
